I’ll tell you what is not reasonable; institutions of higher learning attempting to force a 17 year old (typically) to attend their school even if they have a change of heart. Top college students, like top college athletes, are “recruited” every year by many schools . The difference between the two is that the top college athlete gets to know which schools will be accepting him before he signs on the dotted line. Not so with the top collegiate students who apply ED. No one should be “shamed” into going some place or paying a single dime to attend any school they are ultimately not enamored with (especially minors!) ED is a game invented by top schools who want to maintain their yield; otherwise they would simply offer EA or RD to those students who were qualified.
