Is cliffnotes AP biology good to study for the SAT II bio?

I will be taking the sat II bio. What is the best book to study from? Is cliffnotes AP enough to get me a score of 780 ++?

yeh i heard it is the best for the AP Exam...i dunno how it is for the SAT II but it should be just as good

Which biology test are you taking, M or E?

its good enough, I used it and I got 780 M

Most of the material on the SAT II Biology is covered in the AP curriculum, so Cliffs is an excellent book to use for reviewing for both tests. But go to the bookstore or library and look through some SAT II Bio review books before you take the test - there are a few minor concepts that are sometimes tested on the SAT II that I never learned in AP Bio (like parts of an insect, etc)

I scored a 5 on AP bio and I was wondering if either E or M is easier, i.e. closer to the AP material...or is it just what you're comfortable with.

I was in the same situtation as you last year and I decided to take the Bio M exam. I don't know about the AP curriculum in general, but my Bio class spent minimal time on ecology (and
I really didn't like ecology anyway). I felt I was much better prepared for the Molecular section. And IIRC, you can look through both sections of the test and put down the test code for whichever one you decide to take.

I would say that AP Bio is more geared towards the M exam.

I will be taking SAT II M bio.

Two critical points.

Kaplan is god for the SAT II Biology. Memorize everything in that book and you're destined for an 800.

DON'T go into the test room knowing exactly which test (E or M) you're going to take. Sure, it's good to have some idea. However, during the exam (either in the beginning or after the core 60... whenever you like) go through both the E and M questions and look at which ones are easier. My friend was comitted to taking the E version, but when we got the exams, she followed my advice and quickly saw (as I did) that M happened to be MUCH easier. She ended up with a 780 and she isn't complaining. They ask you which one you'll be taking at the beginning of the exam, but you can always go back and change it. There's no rule saying you can't do that.

bump....................

bump again...

Spark Notes have a nice book with online tests got 780. Used Cliffs and the Spark Notes AP Bio kit for AP Bio (got a 5). Liked the flash cards for review.

I bought Kaplan's. While the review is certainly organized, in-depth, and helpful, the tests are not exactly all that realistic. I scored around a 690-710 range in these tests, scored a 760 in the CB Blue Book, and scored a 760 in the real thing when I took it on June 4.

CliffsAP should be fine. I used it and got a five on the AP test.

bump................

do you guys know if i'll be able to catch up on any bio M/E material for the SAT II's if i'm taking the exam about a month/2 weeks before the course ends?

I used the Cliffs AP to study for my AP and SAT II at the same time. I received a 710 on the SAT II using that book.

wait so if I read the entire sparknotes Biology book online, Am i guaranteed atleast a 730+ on the test?

bump.......

theoneo, which one of the SAT II Bio tests is the Kaplan book good for, E or M? Or both?
