Is Co-Op useful for grad school?

There's a good chance I'm going to apply to Northeastern for my undergrad, and Northeastern is known for it's excellent Co-Op program in which you can get 18 months of paid work experience by the time you graduate (in five years). I intend on majoring in Computer Science and hopefully to go to a top Computer Science school for my Master's, and I'm wondering if having a good deal of work experience related to computer science helps when applying to grad school?

It will help if the Co-Op is done doing research. It might help for professional master’s but less so for a research MS or PhD. Work experience is a good thing but does not replace research experience.

unfortunately, doesn’t help much
