Is college debt really that bad?

<p>The thread took a turn. It is not about home purchase it is about not being able to afford a home if you take on the type of debt this poster is talking about.</p>

<p>The lower-middle/lower class families in big cities that don’t live in apartments, duplexes or trailer parks often live in “cheap housing” that costs far far more than $80k. I don’t think it’s common sense if you’ve lived in a city all your life to think that “expensive housing” elsewhere could actually cost less than “cheap housing” in that city.</p>

<p>Maybe you could say that living in a big city is akin to living in a bubble, but I think there are an awful lot of people that don’t live in big cities that would be how little you can get for a few hundred thousand dollars.</p>
