<p>Hi, I'm trying to apply Wharton but I focus my EC at my own business and don't have time for community service at all. I came to US at the end of freshman year and so far I have just tutored peers for 17 hrs.
So is community service really important for me? And does peer tutoring count as community service? Thanks</p>

<p>lack of community service won’t be noticed if you have other good ECs. Everybody lists community service – it’s akin to saying you were on the Honor Roll.</p>
<p>Only truly earth shattering community service programs/involvement are a boost.</p>
<p>Having community service is better than not having community service.</p>
<p>It is nice to have some community service but I think Wharton would be more impressed with the fact that you started your own business while in high school. Peer tutoring would count as community service.</p>
