Is Computer Science and Astronomy a good major?

So from the start, I was interested in astronomy, but soon saw how unstable the future is, like it is hard to get a good job in that field after college. So I thought about computer science and I’m currently taking AP CS in high school and enjoy it. So I decided I wanted to major in CS. I recently came across the University of Illinois - Urbana Champaign, and they have a really good CS program, but it is extremely hard to get in for that. So I looked further and found a major called “Computer Science and Astronomy” and it got me excited. Getting into the UIUC for CS and Astronomy was easier too, as they required lower ACT and GPA, than the CS alone. So I was wondering if anyone out here knows about that major and could tell me something more about it. It’s not double major, just one. I really want to do this major but will be pay off at the end? Will I have opportunities in the field of CS or astronomy in the future? Please let me know. Thank you!

You don’t need to find a major with a title whose name includes everything you’re interested in. Most likely, you would be able to achieve exactly what you want by going the computer science route or the physics/astronomy route. You don’t need a degree with both “computer science” and “astronomy” in the title. Focus on the content and the career outcomes, not the name.

Thanks for the help! Will keep that in mind!
