Is Computer Science For Me??

Think in abstract, very conceptual, theoretical, imaginative, devise mental schematics... Poor aptitude for rote memorization — had been flirting w/ biology concentration; could comp sci. be a convenient alternative ?? What kind of student profile is/are traditionally attracted to the program (do they succeed)?

If you want to know if CS is for you, go take whatever your school’s first programming course is. That’ll give you a flavor of the major and allow you to make a more informed decision on whether or not you like computer science.

People who have trouble with abstract thought don’t do well in CS, which shows you its importance in CS. I’m terrible at memorization, it is rarely a problem in CS classes.

On the other hand, biology is said to be memorization-heavy.

Have you ever written code?
