Is Cornell IRL (ED) attainable?

SAT I: 750 CR & 650 M (1400 composite)
SAT II: 760 US & 740 Lit
I read somewhere that the avg. SAT for IRL is a 1380ish. I can show good fit with the program (mock trial, debate etc.), have a high GPA (97), 5s on 3 APs, and will have good essays, recs etc. I'm not low-income/first-generation/minority but the fact that I'm applying ED should help (?). What are my chances & can I do anything to bolster them between now and November? Thanks in advance!

Reach/High Match, its worth a shot.

Cornell ILR ED: High match/low reach

You have solid stats. I’ve seen people with worse stats get in so it is up to the finer points of your application now. Read up on ILR and what it brings to the table then explain why your a match for it in your essays. If you’re a rising senior, there’s really nothing more that you can do other than that unless you believe there’s something to be done over the summer. Good luck!

Chance back?: http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/cornell-university/1520965-chance-me-aem-ed.html

All ILR admissions really care about is ec’s (leadership), essays, and recommendation letters. It’s all based on how much you fit the school. They don’t care that much at all about stats, as long as they are decent.

ILR.

It’s attainable - though if you don’t have stellar senior year grades I wouldn’t be surprised if you got deferred.

…if the OP applies ED their senior grades will not be on the transcript read by admissions. They may call your GC & ask if you’ve maintained high grades, but with a 97 GPA your grades are not going to stop you from being admitted. Solid stats will make you a serious contender for admit. Will probably come down to essays & letters of rec.

That’s not necessarily true - I applied ED last year and my senior grades were sent in november (first term), but it would only have an impact in extenuating circumstances.

Yes, I stand corrected, it does depend on what state you are from & how early you start school. ED deadline is 11/1. New York State schools first Q marking period typically ends a week after this deadline, but I’m sure some other states don’t.
