Is Cornell really a pressure cooker?

Ya it's true. You are LIVING at college...it's much easier to manage time for work at college than at home (at least for me). (Cept at nights...try to get things done so that u can hang out w/ people during the night because once it gets to be night time it's hard to not be tempted to stop doing work...so manage that time well! lol)

eh personally I've found college to be more stressful time-wise. I current work 3 part-time jobs in addition to volunteer activities and clubs that come out to approx. 25-30 hrs/wk. Throw in 16 hours of class time and we're already talking 40+ hours per week not including any studying that needs to go on for me to maintain my GPA for med school. It's good prep for the rigors of med school though ;)

19 units isn't even all that much really. it's only about 1 class more than the average average. There are a LOT of engineers who take 18-22 units because they have to. I know ChemE's here need to take about 20 units a semester in order to graduate on time.

And to build on what most people are saying, the homework is usually manageable (although it does get quite hefty sometimes). And also like what everyone else is saying, mid-terms and finals can be quite stressful too. But what you're forgetting is that mid-terms are not concentrated around one week. They're often spread out so once mid-terms start, you'll have sometimes one mid-term every week. So on top of all the homework weekly, you're also trying to frantically study for the mid-term. Every week. The week that you DON'T have a paper or a mid-term is a VERY good week. What ever you do, don't underestimate the amount of time and effort college requires.
