Is Cornell Really This Racist?????

Should the US have shipped all their niggers back to Africa after they

The thread is extremely unbelievable. I couldn't believe everything I read. I really think someone needs to track down the IP addresses of the students who are posting those racist comments and take immediate action.

My question to you all is is Cornell really that racist? I know the site is anonymous and anyone can post from anywhere but I am considering applying for an MPA degree and I will not hesitate to cross Cornell off my list if in fact that is the case. Someone please testify to the race relations between students on campus.

Dude, that’s collegeacb. Go to any school’s acb, its the same thing.

Also, it’s not illegal to write hate speech online, as bad as it is, so what would tracking their IP address do?

Racism is not prevalent at all at Cornell. There will be racists at almost any campus, but they do not represent the school as a whole.

I’ve been at Cornell for only a semester, and out of the dozens of new students I’ve met, I’ve only encountered one who was racist. And this person does not advertise it, you can only slightly tell if you talk to them a lot. I haven’t personally experienced any hostility (I am Hispanic).

I am as appalled as you are by that post, however, I haven’t encountered anything like that at Cornell.

There are racists in France. Is France racist?
There are racists in Germany. Is Germany racist?
There are racists in Australia. Is Australia racist?
There are racists in Asia. Is Asia racist?
There are racists in CC. Is CC racist?

yeah…

A senior member posting this kind of thread is a joke. You do not make general assumptions from one outlying piece of evidence. Don’t you learn that from freshman year biology in high school even if you did not have common sense?
“The thread is extremely unbelievable. I couldn’t believe everything I read.”
You answered your own question before you even posted it. Why ask it at all?

I don’t really blame people for being distracted by the rather alarming content of the collegeacb thread. I’m glad that I usually forget about the existence of that site…

this is probably a good start into some of the more high-profile race relations things happening at Cornell: [Africana Director Rescinds Resignation | The Cornell Daily Sun](Africana Director Rescinds Resignation | The Cornell Daily Sun)
although I have to admit that if it weren’t for the Daily Sun, I would have no idea that any of that was occurring.
in my observation of day to day living, race relations for undergraduates are very good.

faustarp thanks for the post. A bit of what I was looking for.

collegeacb is a site for ■■■■■■.

That could be a kid from Harvard or a twelve year old posting for all we know.

if you go onto the harvard portion of collegeacb, you’ll see a thread titled “n-word” and many replies to it, most of them being quite serious.

i guess every school is racist if we’re going to judge by collegeacb =]

@House of London,
I get your point, but next time use a better context to draw your question from. I just didn’t like how u worded ur question. There is no need to resort to name calling.
