Is Cornell Worth 330k Student Debt?

I’m an international student and didn’t apply for financial aid. The website stated they would rather choose an in-state student than an international student applying for financial aid. Does graduating from Cornell would be worth it? How much are food science majors paid after graduating? Should I rather apply for a masters and do my undergrad in my country?

No, not worth it.

How would you even get that much money in loans?

Do you have any affordable options in the US, or your country, or elsewhere?

@Mwfan1921 The University of Guelph, Canada. They have an amazing food science program, but is a small university. I was hoping to attend a larger one. Although the tuition would be 120k for five years (co-op program).

No way, no how.

Is 120K affordable? Meaning without loans?

You’d have to check in your home country to see what jobs are available.

You didn’t apply for financial aid when you applied Cornell. How come? You should always apply for financial aid if you knew it is huge difference compare to tuition in Canada. Cornell is a great school. If you can afford it, yes, it is worth it.

$330,000 in debt is way, way too much. There is no way that you should even consider taking on this much debt. You just cannot do it. It is exceptionally unlikely that anyone would even lend you this much money.

The University of Guelph is a very good university in an attractive location. $120,000 is still a lot of money. Do you have any realistic way to pay for your education at the U. of Guelph?

no no no!
