Is CSOM much harder to get into than the rest?

I know they say its more competitive to get into the Carroll School of Management but how much? Like what should i shoot for in terms of SATs, rank, GPA, etc? Do they look at anything specifically? Is it pretty much the same as BC’s averages that they release, or should i be at like the 75% for SAT scores to call it a match or whatnot? Thanks!

It’s true that CSOM is the most difficult school at BC to get into. However, I do think they take a holistic approach in determining which candidates to accept.

To put this into perspective, I was accepted into the CSOM with a GPA of 3.7, an SAT score of 1890, a few extracurriculars (some related to the administration of money), a damned good essay, and some damned good teacher recommendations. My SAT scores and GPA were a bit on the lower end of matters, but I still managed to get in.

Everything counts, I believe. But it never hurts to boost a fledging GPA or SAT score. But however, prove to the admissions committee that you are a real person and will make an excellent complement to the student body at BC.

oh ok thanks a lot! congratulations!

My daughter had SAT scores of 2070 and a GPA of 3.6 and was admitted to CSOM for Fall 2009. Hope this helps!

Got into CSOM EA for fall 09 with SAT 2020 and 3.9 GPA… math sats were kinda low (math section on SAT I: 650; subject test math II: 640)

Well, that’s the word on the street, but my own experiences in CSOM have really led me to question the intellect of my business school peers. But then again, my main interaction with A&S kids has been through math classes (I’m double majoring in Math) so maybe I’m a little biased.

yes, it is . I spoke to my guidance counselor today, who had been in contact with BC as well as Villanova on my behalf (waitlisted at both). Both schools told him that as it stands, they do not plan to activate their waitlist for business students, pending a tremendous trickle-down effect from other top college.s
