CSUSM has been in my top school to go to but I've been reading reviews online and most are negative. For those who go to this school and are dorming how is the social life and academics? I only really care of the academics and how the school will affect me later on when I try to look for a job. One review I read was that when looking for a job they'll put off anyone who graduated from CSUSM....is that true? Because of this now I'm double thinking of either going to CSUSM straight or go to a CC then transfer to either SDSU or a UC.....

The campus is a relatively new addition to the CSU system - so it doesn’t have the recognition or traditions of an SDSU. They have made a concerted effort to shift to a more ‘residential’ environment. Most students still commute though. I’d suggest go to the campus, talk to some existing students about what it is like to go there now. A 5 year old opinion may not still be relevant.
