Like most high school seniors, you can probably assume the levels of stress, anxiety, fear, and excitement that I'm experiencing right now as I not-so-patiently wait for my admission decision to arrive. Emerson is most definitely my #1 choice; therefor, as you can imagine, the amount of anxiousness I possess to receive my admission decision is through the roof. I am fully aware that the deadline for all EA decision notifications stated on Emerson's website is December 15; however, since I have an older sister who's already endured this entire process, I am also aware that many of these dates can occasionally be inaccurate.

My first question is: Is December 15 an accurate date to be expecting a response or is it likely that I'll receive a notification at a significantly earlier or later date and when should I be expecting one?

I applied EA to Emerson's Department of Visual & Media Arts to pursue a BA (possibly a BFA) in Film. I've applied to Emerson's honor program and I'll be submitting my 400-600 word essay for it soon. Similar to many of the students on this forum, I'm very curious to know what my chances are of being accepted.

On my ACT, I scored a composite score of 32 and a writing score of 10. On the other hand, I have a 3.14 unweighted GPA. My freshman and sophomore years of high school were definitely a struggle. My freshman year GPA was 3.1 and my sophomore year GPA was about 2.8; however, I got a 3.4 GPA my junior year and I am now the proud holder of a 3.9 (working for a 4.0) GPA as a senior. Unfortunately, my senior year GPA isn't a component of my overall GPA; therefor, I'm hoping this upward trend will help me get accepted but, as you can understand, I'm still worried. My class size is very large at about 636 students and my school has roughly 2,500 students enrolled overall. In addition, my school is extremely competitive. I've had fairly rigorous schedules throughout the past three years and, in addition to taking CP Government over the summer, my current schedule is composed of AP Statistics, two single-semester English Seminars, CP Economics, Advanced Cinematic Arts, Teacher's Assistant and Track and Field. I have tons of filmmaking experience; I have been making films since my freshman year of high school and I have even been employed by Sony Music Entertainment to produce a music video (which I have stated in my application). I've been told my writing and artistic supplements are pretty strong but Emerson's obviously the one making the ultimate decision.

I have tried websites like Unigo to see what my chances are of being accepted; however, seeing as I don't necessarily know how accurate their results are, it would be great to know what my chances of being accepted are by another source.

To whoever responds to this thread: THANKYOU!
