Is decision release date ACTUALLY the release date?

Hey!! So, I'm supposed to know my early action decision from Boston College and University of Michigan on December 24th or 25th. I was curious if they will release the decisions sooner or if the date they list is actually the date that you'll hear by. I only ask because I heard back from the University of Georgia about 2.5 weeks before the date they said they would release decisions so I'm curious if other schools do the same... THANK YOU!!

Any/all responses are welcome!!

The date they list is the outer limit date, they promise to notify by that date. Most schools release before that date, particularly if it falls on a weekend. I know some LACs with a Dec 15 deadline are releasing next Friday, I’m sure others will release on Monday. Check the various school specific boards here to see if anyone has an exact date for any schools you have in question - failing that most schools follow the same pattern year after year, so whenever they released in previous years is the most likely day they will release this year.
