Is Dell E510 noisy?

Is the Dell E510 noisy? I will be using my computer to study and I don't like noisy computers. I spoke with a Dell representative and they said the XPS 400 is actually quieter. If it is not significantly or noticely noisy then I would prefer to buy the E510 because of the 40% discount right now.

I am wondering about this too - except with the new MacBooks. How noisy do they get when playing itunes and running word, doing all those things. I CANT STAND noisy computers, especially when listening to music or writing.
Also, how hot do these new macbooks get? my friend says his powerbook sometimes is toot do even touch in some spots. Have heard nothing aobut the macbook though.

the dell E1505 is a great laptop. it's completely silent, with the exception of the DVD player. as for the macbooks, i'd ask somebody else, since i can't stand macs. the only problem with the E1505 is its weight, mine's about 7 pounds right now.

here's a macbook fan video: <a href="http://youtube.com/watch?v=-Rnzg3LQXDE&search=macbook%5B/url%5D">http://youtube.com/watch?v=-Rnzg3LQXDE&search=macbook</a></p>

here is a macbook temp. video:

I believe the E510 is a desktop computer. Does anyone know if it is silent enough to write with?

wow. they are really noisy AND hot!
I hope they improve this by the time I get a laptop...

bump? please?

Dell's are usually pretty silent compared to other desktops. Just go for it, test it out, and if it's too loud, return it.
