Is dropping a second language bad?

If I take French 3,4,5, and AP during high school and then Latin 1,2, and, 3 and don’t take AP Latin, would that be bad on my application. I know that since I already have French, that is good, but is dropping a second language bad? Should I take Latin my senior year?

No, I think as long as you completed over two years of a foreign language (but preferably 3-4 years), you’ll be okay. I would check with what the colleges you’re interested in applying to/attending and see what they recommend and require before making any final decisions, though.

Take Latin if you really want to, but for heaven’s sake, recognize that taking it will not guarantee you get into an Ivy League and not taking it will not exclude you. You have a language with 5 years. Accumulating as many classes as possible is not a guarantee into the upper echelon.
