Is D's list broad enough?

Might want to add Duke and look at some LACs like Colgate or Holy Cross which seek out geographic diversity.

I'm surprised no one through out Wellesley, Smith, and Mt Holyoke. With those stats, she will get into at lease one of the three if not more.

Sarap, We are also an international family. My son who had similar background to your daughter was accepted by Williams ED.

Williams, like many LACs, value international living experience highly for what these kids can bring to the campus community. It is a clear hook. They see it as a way to achieve cultural diversity without having to worry about language and visa problems. Your daughter should be sure to feature this aspect of her experience in her essays. If any of your posts have been Islamic countries, she shouldn't miss the opportunity to play that card as well.

Three years ago my son's safeties were Hamilton, Skidmore, Conn College and Kenyon. The situation has tightened up quite a bit since then, however, and many of the LACs that were formerly "sure bets" have moved into the match category. In that light, I'd say that Dickinson is the only "true" safety on your daughter's list. If she loves Dickinson, then that's okay. You only need one. If she's still in the research, visit and eliminate mode, then I'd add a couple more. (I don't usually disagree with Cangel, but I wouldn't call CMU a safety for anyone.)

the initial list is fine a 1450 or 2210 if you add the Writing SATII, is within the the 25%-75% percentile for the almost all the schools listed. The SAT isn't a prblm as long as she as good EC's etc.
