how is it academically?

I usually tend to think any of the community colleges part of the LA District are always going to be mediocre if not bad.

No, it is not good.

do u live around that area? if you're looking to transfer to a good 4-year university, consider pasadena city college instead of ELAC. rio hondo is also a good alternative.

ELAC is decent.

i went to csula and knew many who transferred from elac and frankly, most of them imho, didn't belong in a 4 year school. consider pcc instead.

santa monica is in the la district as far as i know, and its supposed to be tops in transfers:

1)santa monica
2)Pasadena City College
3)Glendale community college

^^^

I agree. Santa Monica is much better than ELAC. I heard that Santa Monica sends a lot of their students to UCLA.
