<p>I can't believe it took me this long to realize it, but I'm seriously considering econ. but i heard it's hard for econ majors to find jobs. and well, i'd have to stay back a quarter, and go to summer schools for the rest of my college life. but i plan to go back to grad school shortly after i graduate, and i heard econ is a good undergrad degree for that. would 2 years be enough for me to learn econ and get good practice for law/business school?</p>

<p>Econ is one of the most versatile majors out there, IMO.
Which also means everyone is majoring in it.
If making this choice means you have to "learn econ", then it seems like you haven't taken many econ classes, if any at all. In this case, you shouldn't major in econ if you don't know that you love it. Don't major in something just because you think it's good prep for grad school. Make your grad school plans after you decide what major you enjoy.</p>
<p>I am in total agreement with Williamsf1_fan. Econ is the most popular major in the WORLD, at least that's what my econ professor told me. I thought I liked Econ until this quarter, and I realize it's not for me AT ALL. I could do it, I can make money, I can get a job, and I'd be fine, but I wouldn't enjoy it. My only advice to you is to take a variety of classes and become aware of what you really enjoy doing. I knew what I liked to do, but I always pushed it aside as a career. Well, I'm not anymore, and I feel so much better. So don't do ECON just because it sounds like a good MAJOR, do it because it sounds like good FUN.</p>
<p>If you have a B.A. in Econ you can do nothing but go to law school med school or teach. You NEED a grad degree with it, you can do NOTHING without a grad degree if your undergraduate major is econ. Thats not to say dont major in econ, I almost did, It just means that you need to understand that there are big benefits, but only if you go through all the schooling.</p>

<p>Tons of companies from every sector recruit Econ majors...in fact, it is probably the most marketable liberal arts degree out of undergrad.</p>
<p>As far as post-undergrad opportunities, what are the differences between as B.A. and a B.S.?</p>
<p>You can take advantage of the many networking opportunities and be able to work for some elite companies like ING DIRECT, PricewaterhouseCoopers, Lehman Bros, Eli Lilly, Goldman Sachs, etc.</p>
