Is ED2 Binding if you aren’t offered the school ypu applied to at BU?

Hi folks - sorry if this question has been asked before here but basic research didn’t seem to offer an answer in any existing discussion I could find.

My question is this: If you apply to BU for a particular school and major is it still binding if you are offered Freshman fall admission to a different school at the university? For instance if you apply ED2 to the business school as a finance major and you are offered the school of general studies instead are you still committed even if you are offered business at a different school? Boston is a great college town but my academics are more important to me than location so I need to be sure and I seem to be receiving conflicting advice from various sources.

Any help or advice appreciated.

The only other school you could be offered admission to other than the one you applied to is CGS. And no, if CGS was not your first choice, the ED contract is null and void and you are not held to it (at least, this is how it was when I applied).

That’s great info thanks so much!

I would recommend that you call CGS and talk to them about CGS so you have complete information on the program. Alternatively, search for my posts on the program: I made it my mission for a few years to answer questions on it accurately, as there was nothing on this board when we needed information from a student who actually went through it. Our DD got “second choice”of CGS, and it was the best thing that could have happened. It is truly a high quality program.
