<p>But seriously Trex, just because a group of students organize a protest around something that may have just been a poor choice of words, doesn’t mean that Emory is actually racist or that all students think that Wagner believes slavery was anything but horrible.</p>

<p>Just one insight: my daughter (a sophomore, hence my screen name) said when her friend who is at Vanderbilt visited her at Emory, she was amazed at how many people my daughter knew to say “hi” to. They’re similar sized schools. My daughter said Vandy is the kind of place that whoever you were in high school is set in stone for your 4 years of college. I was glad to hear that. She has found it easy to make friends there.</p>
