I thought I’d add an additional input as a civil engineering student in college now. I can’t speak for a chemical engineer, especially since I actually don’t like chemistry very much, but I can say that generally chemical and electrical engineers seem to be the most stressed out. Since being a civil, I’ve personally found a lot of ways to be creative and visual. I would say the most visual is probably mechanical and civil, since the stuff in electrical and chemical tends to be a lot more microscopic or invisible in the sense you can’t really always see electrical waves/microscopic chemicals bonding. On the subject of women, I’m a male but I’ve personally seen women very well respected and don’t think I’ve seen any major problems since being an engineer.

I will say that being good at math/science is definitely very helpful but if you’re willing to work at it I think you should be okay. I personally was terrible at English but I enjoyed writing creative stories and song lyrics, I only stunk cause I hated to read a lot of the old complicated lit texts we had to do in high school. I’m an art/music person so creativity was also very important to me. Social-life wise I would say its all about time management and I would say freshman year was probably the hardest managing time since I was still adjusting to college life and all and yeah there are definitely engineers I know, including myself, who enjoy hanging out, partying, and socializing. Relationship-wise, I’m single so I can’t really say lol.
