Is essay about intellectual curiosity as passion overdone?

I am writing my essay to the prompt 'what moves me' about a desire to learn and understand the world. Is this trite and lacking in depth, or will it do the trick? So far, I am really doing well with it, most likely because it is wholeheartedly true. Will the topic be an instant bore unless I take a unique approach?

As long as it’s well written, the topic is secondary.

I agree with turntabler, a well written essay will do fine with an over done topic. If what you are saying is true then it will be clear from your writing.

But to play devils advocate, a well written-unique essay can be even better.
