Does UT actually reject any applicants or just CAP everyone?

They offer everyone CAP.

Only out-of-state get rejected flat out.

CAP is the rejection for in-state.
And what educateme said for OOS applicants.

Unless it’s changed in the last year not everyone is offered CAP in state or out of state. I knew people back in high school that were rejected (no cap offer).

I should say not everyone in state and none out of state. It’s for Texas residents only.

They say they have a policy that no one from Texas is rejected. Let me see if I can find the reference. I posted it not long ago.

If your supposed to be offered CAP on your status page…

then out of state students just get rejected I think…Because I wasn’t offered CAP. Or I just really didn’t make the cut.

In past years, CAP has only been offered to in-state students.

You do have to qualify for one ont the CAP schools, but the standards aren’t that high.

I know that they also decline your ability to come in until the Spring semester also…
(that’s what happened to me, but it made my decision so much easier)
