<p>so i lot of the initiative and leadership in my EC’s is not explicit. I would teach kids on my own time during swim practice and stuff, but it wasn’t any real leadership position.</p>
<p>i have a lot more like the ones mentioned above, how would i show these on my UC app? is it a drawback if we dont have explicit leadership positions</p>
<p>Also!!! The summer of my junior year, i independently contacted a college professor who was happy to have me as his research intern. However, in like two days we had a family emergency and had to leave the country. Is it a good idea to explain my initiative here and why i was not able to continue with it…? maybe in the additional comments section</p>
