Is FA packages ready yet?

i logged into myFAO to look for my financial package(epal), it's not ready yet. However,i filed my fafsa back in January~~
does anyone else have the same prob like me? though im not expecting much from UCLA due to the economic crisis,, i still like to see wat they have to offer~~

pls post here if u have gotten ur FA offers(excluding regents), or you have not.

Yeah, I have the same problem. I tried calling the financial aid office, but couldn’t get through. My friend is also in the same situation. Hopefully they’ll fix it soon!

thanks~ good to hear that i’m not alone :)

Yeah, I got my FA award info, and I filed my FAFSA in mid-Feb along with the Cal Grant. Are you OOS?

yes im oos…

It’s not going to be much so don’t be surprised. You are, however, going to receive lots of loan from UCLA.

^yes i know. still, lol.

I got 10,000 dollars in gift aid; no grant, so basically I still have to pay 36,000 dollars. That’s a pretty hefty amount. So yeah, are you definitely going to UCLA? Did you get into Carnegie Mellon?

i got waitlisted at cmu’s cit, and pretty dead set on UCLA unless some financial prob occurs later~ im going to accept LA’s offer and see what happens. hehe did u get in

Yeah, I got into UCLA and Carnegie Mellon CIT- waitlisted at electrical engineering though. I didn’t really want to do electrical engineering, I just randomly chose some department. So yeah it’s all good. But I’m most likely not going to CMU because the school in my opinion is kinda dead; there’s no social or athletic atmosphere. Also I heard the workload is crazy and among other things, I heard the girls there are less than desirable haha (don’t know if you care about that though). I think UCLA a good choice especially for an OOS; one gets to experience the LA life, the good weather, outstanding education, etc. I would choose UCLA in a heartbeat but the money is somewhat of a problem for me.

Did you also get waitlisted at ECE or the entire engineering school? Either way, UCLA is a great school so congrats on your acceptance.

thanks, i find it to be a blessing to be admitted to LA after being rejected berkeley.
i don’t know what you mean by the wl at CIT/ECE, i didn’t get my actual packet yet, but under CMU’s online thing, it says CIT --ECE --waitlist, not sure if i was waitlisted at ECE…

That’s what mine said, but then I got the packet and I was actually admitted to CMU’s CIT, just not ECE. I too got rejected by Berkeley as well so you’re not alone. I’m guessing that you probably did get into CMU’s CIT and just not the ECE department. Good luck.

On the side note, I just got my scholarship to UCLA in the mail today. It’s very well done. It’s in a big white packet and inside is a very nice blue folder with a mail and behind it is a very very nice award with my name on it. So yeah if you get aid it will be in that form too most likely.
