<p>For current Goucher students with merit scholarships: do parents have to file the FAFSA each year to keep the merit $? Some schools require this, others don't. Thanks!</p>
<p>A lot of schools say to fill it out, even if your EFC is really high. I wonder if it is really required for merit aid.</p>
<p>My son is a Dean’s Scholarship recipient. We have not had to file the FAFSA since first applying. But each award may be different. Go to the school’s website and find the most recent academic catalog. I just did this. Page 26-27 lists scholarships and requirements. I believe those that are awarded by Goucher for 8 semesters have only academic requirements. Those that are single year awards may have to be re-applied for, but I think they are need blind.</p>
