Is fast track at UCLA a guarantee of admission?

I recently was emailed with an offer to participate in the “fast track” program because of my “stellar high school academic record”. At the end of the message it says “While admission decisions have not yet been finalized, we recognize the extraordinary talent and ability you have presented in your application. Final decisions will be released by UCLA Undergraduate Admission in late March. Once these decisions have been released, we very much look forward to welcoming you in the Fall 2016 at UCLA.”

Like I said, does this mean I am in, or does everyone get one of these letters?

Thanks so much!

I also got this email, and had these same questions. I was also invited to apply to the Regent’s Scholarship at UCLA - do either of these mean anything?

I think this is what is known as a “likely letter”. Last year JustKeepWaiting got this email and later got accepted into the fast track program.

It’s the equivalent of the old engineering likely letters they used to send out. Keep an eye out for an invitation to the 2017 Engineering Open House the day after Bruin Day. It will consist of an engineering wide presentation for admitted students followed by breakfast. Then you go into major specific presentations with faculty and dept chairs followed by lunch. Afterwards there is time for engineering tours, exploration of clubs and projects and a chance to meet your fellow engineers. Highly recommended to go. It can either help persuade you to SIR or it’s fun just to see what it’s like if you already plan to attend.

i just got the packet, but im still not 100% sure its an acceptance… is there any reason they dont out and tell you?
