Is financial aid the same for a fifth year?

The school I’m attending allows you to elect to complete your double major in five years in order to receive a BS and a BA. My question is, will the financial aid for a fifth year of college differ from what is offered for the first four, if all of your aid is need-based?

It depends on the school, but just because a 5 year program is offered does not mean the aid will be the same. My school also offers an accelerated BS/MS program, but the aid drops off. Check with your school.

Check with your school. You may have a merit award that is limited to 4 years. You may have state aid that is limited to 4 years. The school can answer.

Most schools stop institutional aid after the 4th year, unless the program’s standard length for ** one ** bachelor’s degree is longer (such as architecture).
