Is Florida International University good or bad in your opinion?

I don’t plan to go out of state and so far I’ve only been accepted into this place.

I read from comments from a student review site and there were a lot of bad comments.
Professors are stuck up or snobby. They don’t care about you or they can barely teach. The offices don’t help you and pretty much blow you off till you bug them. Parking sucks and you’ll get fined often.

Pretty much things like that. However, there are some people who say the negatives are completely wrong and say the opposite.
A little over half said they’d wouldn’t want to return and says its bad.

Most of them are old so I’d like to get some fresh new opinions.
If you have any info on UF or UCF as well I’d appreciate it

How about Florida Gulf Coast, as long as you’re still looking? Remember every school will have bad and good reviews, so take that with a grain of salt. You might want to pay attention to comments that hit the same theme over and over, though. Good luck!

FIU is a big school and recently opened a med school (big plus IMO) but it is a majority commuter school, many or most students are 1st generation students and undergrad may not be what you have in mind for a college experience. I have only been to the north campus(smaller campus) and it has been a while but parking there was not fun. why would you not travel out of state?

FIU isn’t a top school but I assume, if it’s the only school you’ve been admitted to, that you don’t have the stats for the top Florida publics. However, check out FAU, UWF, and FGCU.
Still in Florida, you have Barry, St Leo, NovaSoutheastern, that should admit you.
Apply to Birmingham Southern or Millsaps if you want a school where professors really care about students and where classes are small (both are very small, but are in big cities, so you really don’t feel like it’s constricting - you have big sports, lots of things to do…)
If you’re a girl, there are lots of other options.
What are your stats (ACT, GPA, number of APs/IB/AICE?)
