<p>That was a long time ago, so probably not relevant. Would make a difference if it had been during high school, but honestly not very relevant now. Unless you have a pattern of family issues that have affected your grades and/or ability to participate in ECs that continued on into high school. Then you could consider asking your guidance counselor to mention in your recommendation (better to do that than try to explain it yourself).</p>
