I don't know if this was present in all school districts, but I live in southern california and we had this.

It was like a separate class for 30 of the kids in our year for 4th and 5th grade and we would go to a different teacher to learn Math and Language Arts.

I just got another copy of my transcript from my counselor recently, and I noticed that "GATE" was clearly printed in a separate box of its own right next to my address.

Does anyone know what I'm talking about, and if so do you know if and how it will affect college admission?

Oh wow, I was in that in 4th and 5th grade as well as a similar program in middle school. I highly doubt it will make a difference because of how long ago it was.

I’ll explain for other readers that “GATE” is a California term for “Gifted and Talented Education.” No, anything from that long ago really doesn’t make any difference in a college application.

That your school district identified you as gifted and talented alone does nothing, it’s what you’ve done with the gifts and talents that matter. They used a test to so label you, colleges use the SAT to do the same.
