is georgetown worth the loans?

hi, i'm an international student who really needs aid to attend georgetown, but have not and will not receive any from the university. my family cannot afford to send me to georgetown and so the only other option i'm looking at is taking out loans to finance my georgetown education.
in that light, is georgetown worth the loans that i would need to take out to attend??

That really depends on what you want to do in the future. If you want to be a nurse or a teacher (1st through 12th grade), from a purely financial point of view it is probably not worth the money. I say this because careers like those have standard pay scales where you could go to an inexpensive state school and be on the same pay scale.

If you are looking to go to medical or lawschool in the future I would say it is worth the money. If you are just looking for a good undrgraduate background for whatever the future may hold, georgetown is a very good investment.

Here’s a link to look at. It shows the colleges with the best returns on the investment:

Just a comment off what the above poster said: depending on where the job is, nursing (well, and public school teaching, for that matter, although that is more geographically, rather than institution to institution) salaries can vary quite a bit. Being a nurse at Johns Hopkins or Mayo or Kaiser will bring you a very different level of pay than being a nurse at Country Veterans Hospital in Anytown, USA.
