Is Georgia Tech a safety school?

Hey everybody. I'm planning to apply to UC Berkeley, Georgia Tech, UIUC, and UGA. I was wondering if you guys could do chances for these schools, or atleast Georgia Tech. I am very interested in engineering, and by several standards I am above GT's average admitted student, but there are some things holding me back. Anyways I would really appreciate some chances.

GPA and classes: 4.35 weighted, 3.71 unweighted (big sophomore slump), 12 AP Classes out of 24 total classes so far, intense rigor, physics and math heavy courses. Will have several more AP classes Senior year as well as a class dedicated to internships Class Rank 42 out of about 450, I go to a STEM magnet school

SAT: 740 CR, 800 M, 720 W, super score. Best individual was 740 CR, 680 M , 720 W.
May take the ACT later in the year, recieved a 35 on practice test.

Extracurriculars:
Model UN this year, will be Vice president next year
Hockey for ten years, captain for one year, stopped playing sophomore year
Rugby for the past two years, State champions both years
Leadership Club member the past three years, recieved service letter this year
Founded an investing club but the club hasnt been very active but will be senior year
Math and science tutor for several kids in my neighborhood, about three or four hours a week

Awards: Honorable Delegation (MUN), National Merit Scholar Semifinalist, AP scholar with honor (will recieve more prestigious award after this year's scores are given back), Service Letter

Job Experience/ Internships:
Summer between sophomore and junior year I had an internship doing research on Cu (I) sensing fluorophores. This summer I am doing followup research at Georgia Tech into Zinc sensing fluorophores and how they behave in Zebrafish cells. During the school year I have already been offered an opportunity to work with some of the Georgia Tech faculty on smell sensors (I haven't been really told what the job entails but it will be during the school year and it will be paid).

Other info:
White, living in GA. Born in Canada and lived there for ten years. No Legacy status or anything. I know my weak unweighted GPA really hurts and I dont have too many extracurriculars. The sports took a lot of time, especially sophomore year when i was captain of my hockey team and started playing rugby. Hockey required me to be out of town every other weekend or so. I also know that my internships are pretty impressice and the fact that one is at Georgia Tech is one of the biggest reasons I think im looking really good. Im applying to take GT Calc 2 and 3 during the school year. Anyways I would appreciate some response.

Not sure what your question is… is GT a Safety School? It looks from your background you have a great chance of getting in, especially since you’re an in state resident. Since you’re already working there, it’ll be great on your resume. I think you have a very good chance.

Berkeley: Match
GA Tech: Low match
UIUC: Low match
UGA: Safety

I don’t know if I’d call GT a safety school for you, but you do have a good chance of getting accepted there. Getting merit money, ummmm, apply early and go for the Presidential. Still a long shot.
