Is getting a 3.99 out of 4.33 not as good as 3.99 out of 4.0?

I had a 3.999 out of 4.33 GPA in freshman year, and it looks to be similar this year. I don't start APs 'til next year so these are unweighted. At my school, 93 is 4.0, 100 is 4.33.

So, my question is, is my 3.999 less valuable than one from a 4.0 school?

Technically, yes, but it isn't anything to be disappointed about.

What Skylarsky said.

But it won't matter either way because colleges recalculate due to discrepances in scale.

How do you get a 100? 0-o?

It's different at my school as well, but it's disappointing because some teachers don't believe in giving out anything over 4, because "4 is a perfect score." So technically, it's impossible to have a perfect GPA at my school.

09xoxo, sux to be you :(

our school is pretty competitive-- so much so that a 4.0 is above a 96%... and I manage to get all my classes except the aps above that mark... honors during senior year in my school are weighted 1.2, until then only 1.1

valedictorian usually only has about a 4.0 weighted (with a mid-1500 SAT), which is pretty much proof that the grading system is fair...
