berkeley accepted me into their spring 2006 semester, as a result during fall I either have nothing to do, go to their extension program, or go to a community college for one semester. If I do screw up during the fall semester, i get kick out of berkeley before i even actually go there. Has anyone gone through this process before? and can share their experience?

well, it's definately better than not getting accepted at all. I do have a friend who lived in a dorm and did fall extension is first semester and loved it. He said it was just like being a normal berkeley student.

same situation here, the only bad thing about it is that SOME majors won't let you start certain classes in the spring, so you basically lose a year

hmm any info on these majors, borkez?

from what i've read, berkeley takes the top of the rejected pool and selects 100-150 applicants for spring semester. its basically another way to give those who weren't good enough to get into berkeley a chance if berkeley sees they have potential. academically, its not something to gloat about, holisitcally, i actually wish i was accepted spring semester to have a longer summer and so i could go skiing in the winter :)

There is absolutely nothing wrong with spring. And after you start in the spring, it's as if you didn't even start later than everybody else. You are lucky to get spring. Many don't get in at all.

i have a friend who got into spring too(this was 2 years ago). he took some classes at a cc in the fall and then was on his way. nothin' to it.
