Is getting an AP rescored worth a try?

I took the AP Lang/Comp exam and got a 3 which is an okay grade, I just expected to get at least a 4 and was quite disappointed when I got my score report. Should I ask for a rescore of my multiple choice answers or is it just wishful thinking that there was an error and I should have gotten a 4 or a 5?

I know most people request a rescore when they get a 1 or 2, and I got a 3....

Generally, it’s for people who are absolutely sure they got an easy 5 at the high end of the scale and end up with something like a 1 (this might be a bit of an exaggeration). However, you expected a 4 and got a 3, which might mean just a difference of a single point, who knows. I wouldn’t waste my money; if you’re absolutely set on it, then go ahead, but I don’t think anything will happen; still, it’s just $15, right?

I think it’s about $25 now…

I don’t want to seem greedy, you know?

Seem greedy to who? If you want to, try it. :)

Okay. Thank you, I think I will request it. :)

Usually people only rescore if there was a big disparity in the grade they expected. But you don’t want to think back a few years from now and regret that you didn’t do it!

Exactly. It can’t hurt. Good luck!

Go for the Re-score. Perhaps you really got a 5.

Should I send the request to the PO Box for the AP Services? I am sending a check since I would rather not fax them a letter with my credit card information…
Should I call them a few days after sending it to make sure they received my request?

Also, should I make the request hand written or typed up?

Can someone please answer these questions for me?

Anyone? 10char

I would call them and ask.

Okay. I think I will do that.

Actually, my son called because he had expected a 5 and got a 1 or 2. They had forgotten to score the multiple choice part, and his score was raised to a 5. We never paid the 25.00 to begin with. I’m wondering if they could already see during the call that only part of the score was included.
