Is getting Siemens or Intel Finalist a ticket to MIT?

Assuming I have good test scores and GPA and pretty good ECs, would finalist in either Siemens or Intel guarantee you into MIT? I'm a current junior looking into these research competition things.

No. I’m sure they deny some every year but it can certainly help.

No. Nothing is guaranteed. One person at my school was a Regional Finalist for Siemens with good grades, test scores ,ECs ,etc but was flat out rejected from MIT in EA.

The only thing that can almost guarantee MIT admission is RSI, but thats unique.

It does, however, greatly increase your chances, but generally applying to HYPSMC is pretty much a crapshoot.

Nothing is guaranteed or close to a guarantee in schools like MIT, but Siemens can be quite helpful.
It’s a bummer that such school reject so many qualified applicants…I wonder if admission officers actually play dart to see who gets in or who don’t
