Although I know this is an awesome/prestiges school. $30,000 a year is simply a whole lot of money. Of course I don't have to pay this much because my financial aid package is less but still more then I can afford. I want to go into the medical field, and I find this school to be way out of my budget. However it is my number one choice!!! I'm torn. Wayne State University is a great medical school, and if I do not attend UMich, I'll be heading to Wayne State which is about 12,000 a year. I do not know what to do. Suggestions, advice?

This is a question you need to discuss with your family. How is the cost going to be paid and what is the impact of paying the cost to you and your family will be the main issue. There are families that believe that $70K per year for a school is worth it. There are some who do not believe any college costs are worth it. And every gradation in between. The same for any purchase decisions. Is a million dollar house worth it? What about a half million? What about a quarter million? Even if one can afford the dollar amounts, the “worth it” part is a matter of opinion.

So how would you and your family pay for UM? That is a question of major importance that will figure it the “worth it”.
