Is graduate school right for me?

One of the few literal 64,000 dollar questions people ask. I'm currently a microbiology major at UC San Diego, and though I'm only a freshmen, I'm quickly finding out that everything is more complicated than high school > college > graduate degree > big fancy house.

Is graduate school right for me? I'm very passionate for my subject, but I struggled with my GPA last quarter. Even though I hear graduate school applications are nebulous and take in a variety of factors (undergrad college prestige, research, and GPA), the GPA requirement is pretty clear cut, and I don't know how confident I feel about getting a 3.5, or even a 3.2 at the moment.
