Is GW, Union and McGill worth applying to?

Thinking about GW or BU for ED, but not sure...
Do I have chance at GW or McGill? My grades are up this year but by end of junior year, realistically the most I could pull my GPA up to is 3.3-3.35. Please help...

Mcgills doesn’t care about your extra curriculars. They don’t even ask.

Mcgills is regarded as one of the best schools in Canada, and in terms of pre-medicine, one of the best in the world.

So McGill does everything based off GPA and SAT/ACT? In that case, I might as well not apply. Most likely I am going to be majoring in Education, History, Poly Sci or something else relating to history and politics. I am going to be a lawyer or a teacher, I am pretty sure, so I want to find a school that I can get into, and that has good history and education programs. I realize not every school has education programs, so that might be a little annoying when trying to find a school. I really would love to go to GW, because they have a great political program, but my grades most likely aren’t good enough. Or are they? I really don’t know…

I found out how to recalculate unweighted gpa, and I actually have a 2.95 :frowning:
but will a school like UConn or BU still accept me? I figure ill probably be around a 3.15-3.2 unweighted by end of junior year, and maybe closer to 3.3 by end of 1st semester next year. I think my extracurriculars are pretty solid, do I still have a good chance?

If you get the 2000+ SAT score, or even close to it, you can get into McGill if your average grade on your transcript is a B+. Remember, McGill also takes into account specific grades (i.e. your prospective major and school). If you apply to the School of Arts (English, History, Philosophy, Economics, Math, Foreign Language etc.) they will focus on your humanities grades, and not as much on your science grades.

I did awful freshman and sophomore years. I would want to do something with either history, poly sci, education, law or some combination. I got B’s in English and History freshman year, B+ in both sophomore year, and am on pace to get B+/A- in history and A- in english. Then will I have a chance if it is an upwards trend? I am also taking AP Gov later this year which would also look good. The problem with B+ is that it hurts for the unweighted GPAs because it still goes down as a 3.0. Our school does semesters, so overall I have had 5 B+, 2 B-, 1 C+ and the rest B’s. Not very good. But my lowest grade this semester should be a B+, with a few A- in there as well. Do they look at trends also?
And does McGill have early decision?
