Otherwise, Harvard may wonder whether the student has something wrong with their personality – such as being extremely shy or totally lacking social skills – that would not make them a good addition to Harvard’s student body.</p>

<p>In the past, most U.S. applicants were contacted for interviews. I don’t know if that’s possible now since so many people are applying to Harvard, and there are far more applicants than there are alum interviewers.</p>
