Is Harvard only for rich?

As a Harvard 08 Freshman and as a friend of Sergey, I can tell everyone of you that he is most definitely not "haughty and arrogant"; in fact, he is one of the most caring, generous and helpful students at this university. Ever since he came to Harvard, he dedicated himself to helping other students, especially international prefrosh. And believe me, I know he did not do this with any ulterior motives, but SOLELY with the intention to help, especially those who come from underprivileged backgrounds.
Stardragon, you should learn to be more careful when making judgments about other people. Asking for help anonymously is a very weird and sketchy thing to do and is it very ungrateful, to say the least, to disparage Seryozha after actually receiving help from him. Your comments show that you are the one who acts in a "haughty and arrogant" way.

I agree with you internationalhelp. I don't know Sergey, but I just judge him upon his letters. I think he HAD some motives in answering me, not other students.

I don't want to disparage anybody, and I'm eager to continue contacting with Sergey, maybe in other manner.

Stardragon,
If you are serious about trying to go to Harvard or another top American school, you need to be far more concerned about your English language skils than about whether the school is only for "rich" students.

Your posts here contain many serious grammatical errors which could lead adcoms to fear that you lack the English skills to handle the writing expectations at a college like Harvard.

My advice would be to spend more time working on improving your English, and less time complaining about whether places like Harvard are filled with arrogant rich people.

I understand that ny English here is awful. But then I absolutely have no explanation why I so stupid get 710 on Practice Tests SAT II Writing.

I hope this my posts will not be read by admission officers. But if they disturb adcom from admitting me, then .... it's their priority to take or not to take applicants. They can lose very original student.

And please no offense, but

skiLLs - right spelling

Well this is my last post to you, Star. I referred you to Sergey, whom I have known indirectly for 4 years and who is now my daughter's neighbor. I was doing you a favor and imposing upon Sergey, for which I'm sorry, Sergey (but thanks for trying). I also think your insulting NSM, an alum who also was trying to be of help, is offensive.
In any case, we have no KGB here and people in general and Harvard people (like Internationalhelp) in particular try to reach out and be openly helpful, but I think we're all probably done trying to help you.
Good luck.

Thank you all! But I really didn't know that Northstarmom is alum.

And your helping is disparaging me? You sting me in all the ways you can.
I don't know your relations between each other, maybe all you're friends here, maybe neighbors, maybe something else. I have not any part to you, so do you.

Let's just remain friends without offense. After hard day, I feel it relaxing to post here. So, i'm sorry.
