Is Hedrick Hall a good dorm to stay in?

I have heard mixed reviews about Hedrick Hall. Some people say it's too far from campus and too noisy; others say it's one of the better halls due to the new renovations it has undertaken. Should I try switching into Reiber or should I stay?

Socially and structurally, Hedrick, Sproul and Rieber will be similar.
Geographically, Hedrick is the farthest. Other than that, there’s nothing that says you shouldn’t live in Hedrick.

If you have problems with walking up the hill, then Hedrick will not be for you.

Hedrick dining hall is my favorite place to eat lol
But the dorms are rather far from campus, but it’s not so bad after the first couple weeks

hedrick dining hall has the worst food and its a ***** to walk back there from class every day. even walking to the gym seems so much worse from way up there. avoid hedrick if possible…

I have to say I don’t really mind the walk or the dining hall as much as as a lot of people. The one thing that is kind of annoying though is that the that toilets flush multiple times during a single *. Like, not just two or three times, every five seconds the stupid thing flushes. Every time I use the toilet I get water all over my bum. They should just disable those sensor thingies, manual flushing is the best anyways. Every I feel a * coming I am filled with frustration. I really don’t want to leave the building just to go to the bathroom but sometimes I’m tempted to. Rieber hall is a much better for the bathroom situation, their sensors actually work some of the time. Ucla isn’t the best school for bathrooms though, if you truly value comfort and convenience you may want to transfer to a private school.

Hedrick is the farthest away, but it’s a good work out lol. Dining hall is ok, I prefer the Rieber Dining Hall (aka FEAST), or Covel better.
Each hall has its own advantages/disadvantages, but they’re more similar than different. Hedrick is geographically the farthest away, Sproul is geographically the ‘center’ of the hill, so easy access to everything. Both Hedrick and Rieber are newly renovated in the past 2-3 years. Sunset Recreational Center is literally right near Hedrick, so if you want to go swim or do a workout, you don’t have to go as far as other places. Dining halls, it really depend on what you like to eat. There’s daily menu online, so you can always get a glance of that. Hedrick Dining Hall usually have a lot of diverse food across the world, so every day will be a different flavor. Covel Dining Hall is usually pasta/pizza. Rieber Dining Hall is all asian food, there are seven cuisines that they switch off from day to day (Chinese, Japanese, Thai, Vietnamese, Korean, Indian, and Hawaiian).

■■■■■ @ the toilet flushing post

@ynnohj: You suggested transferring to a private institution because of bathroom privacy? Jokes. Why is your user name also the OP’s name backward???

The walk sucks, but it keeps you healthy and it’s 95% freshman which is chill. If you can get Rieber, go for it. It is in a better location than Hedrick, but Hedrick isn’t bad at all. As far as noise, there is basically no difference between Hedrick and Rieber.

What is Hedrick Summit like?!
