Is Homosexuality genetic?

I'm wondering. Or is it a choice?

Is there research suggesting otherwise?

Everyone has a different opinion.

I would like to know how it could be genetic. I'm not saying it's a choice - I personally don't know what causes it, perhaps it's caused by a bacteria, I don't know. But I want to know how it could be genetic. I mean, think about it.

I think you're born gay and when you're older you'll find out if you're gay or not. I don't think people just suddenly turn from gay to straight and back to gay then to bi...
I don't know.. I'm straight so I don't know what gay people think.

Has there been research done on it? Because I have this theory...but its probably wrong.

What is it?

No body knows. Some say it's genetic, some say there are prenatal factors... nobody really knows. I can say from personal experience, however, that it is not a choice.

There have been studies on the issue. In fact, one study that just came out shows that men with several older brothers are more likely to be gay, and that maybe homosexuality is caused by biological factors (not necessarily genetic, but prenatal factors and maternal factors).

I think that it's both...you may be born with more of an inclination to be attracted to the same sex (or even both sexes) and then your upbringing can influence that.

I've heard it's a combination of both but its arguable.

Uh I don't want to write out my theory here because its long and I'm sure it only makes sense in my head. Also a bunch of people will be very unhappy to hear it. Good theory though. Maybe someday I'll test it out.

It's hard to believe it's a choice, just like being straight wasn't a decision we consciously made. I think it's predetermined, genetically or otherwise. Studies have shown that homosexuality exists in other animals, too, who presumably would not have had the ability to choose.

yes my uncle had a straight dog, but once he was stuck in a yard with two other dogs, he became gay. which is interesting.

no he just humps the other dogs to show dominance.

there was a time article I read in a dentist's office somewhere that noted that traits of homosexuality were genetic (they did a study of fruit flies)... I kind of wish I could find it again...

google it, look on proquest. on 2nd thought, don't google it. search news archives or proquest

"no he just humps the other dogs to show dominance"

No actually they hump him. Lol. And he takes it...like a gay dog.

well then he is intimidated into being passive towards the other dogs. Its not really something sexual. Youre dog isnt homosexual, its just dominance behavior.

Well either way, it's gross. Lmao.

There is this t-shirt that I want to get that says "I only support gay marriage if both girls are hot."

not my true opinion but still funny as hell.

lol true lesbians aren't gross...but these are boys...and they're dogs

and i guess either way, if they're dogs, it's pretty damn gross.
