Is IB actually going to help me?

I've been talking to some other people who've graduated with their IB diploma, and it's not helping them at all. So is there a point to continuing to spend money to get my IB diploma?

my brother took the IB, it was torture for his high school years, but now he is really relaxed in college (like he doesn’t even need to take the classes and he still gets like a good GPA)

IB is considered to be the toughest curriculm out there, its suppose to be much harder than any AP course. it may not personally help you out much but it is highly looked upon by colleges

Deerhotch, How do you know colleges regard IB curriculum highly? Do you have any supporting evidence or is it just hearsay?

Although the IB is supposed to be standardized and rigorous, it hasn’t developed that way in the US. I know a student in an low performing high school that now offers IB, and the policy is that anyone who writes the essays gets an A. The teacher doesn’t read it, but checks to see if it was done and gives an A to anyone who completes the work. This isn’t the way at all IB programs, or even most, but the point is that the quality of the school itself it still a factor. The quality of IB programs still varies greatly, even though it isn’t supposed to!
