Is it a bad idea/hard to go into medical school with a bachelor of arts instead of science?

Hi, I'm a high school senior just thinking about my future (hah). I'm wondering if it is generally a bad idea to go into medical school with a BA instead of a BS-- or even just getting a BS from a liberal arts college.

I may be applying to some smaller liberal arts colleges and I plan on eventually going into medicine. My main plan -isn't- to attend any of the Lib art schools I have on my list, but who knows what'll happen! I'm not sure if a liberal arts college is okay or not for what I want to go into?? Sorry if these are just dumb questions in general, but I honestly don't know and would like some more information as application deadlines and decisions come near. Thank you all so much!!!

In many schools, BA and BS are vaguely defined. The difference maybe a research paper, a few upper level classes. Medical schools really don’t care about your degree, you only need to finish the med school requirements and you will be considered.

Not anymore. MCAT used to be science centric which gave people that impression but now it is quite balanced with 50% weight to sciences and 50% to arts. So someone doing a BA gets an equal part of their knowledge for taking the test and medical schools are essentially moving towards stating that doctors need to be good at both.
