<p>There have been many threads on this same question. I think the consensus is NO, don’t ask. </p>
<p>The schools factor so many reasons to accept or not so it could be anything. </p>
<p>Also, there’s the legal aspect: the colleges are reluctant it explain your application was missing _____ . Because you may then turn around and find someone who got in, with that same part lacking, and want to petition. </p>
<p>Finally, with so many applications being processed, it may be hard to resurrect the exact reasons why they said no.</p>

<p>Yeahh–waitlist is frustrating, especially from a top-choice :s</p>
<p>But that aside, thank you! I was thinking much the same.</p>
<p>I can’t speak for your particular situation but usually when people get waitlisted it means that you had the qualifications to be admitted but they didn’t have enough room to admit all of the qualified people that they received applications from.</p>
<p>What’s the point of improving your application now? It’s too late to apply to any decent school.</p>
