Is it a bad idea to have a lecture and discussion for the same class back-to-back?

Currently planning out my schedule and was just wondering. Any schedule reccomendations? I'm in CNR, pre-med/MEB major.

People do that all the time, it’s not a problem. I’ve done it, though personally, I sometimes found it annoying because we’d sometimes cover the same information in both lecture and discussion and it would get monotonous having a few hours straight of the same material. But it’s perfectly fine.

i did it last semester. it worked out b/c if i missed one, i’d just go to the other. recycled information is boring.

Bad idea? I always imagined people preferring this option.

I had the same situation with 16b last year…and it was a little tough. Granted that was a hard class for me and it was at the end of a long day, but I felt that because we were the right-after-lecture section, our GSI would go ahead and quiz us on the stuff we just learned (my sections scores were therefore different from others). I kind of got to the point where my brain would just shut down and I wasn’t really getting much out of the discussion, which otherwise is a great opportunity to review material and ask questions.
